The Lumberjack shirt invasion

My sister is on vacation in Vancouver at the moment. She shared some photos of herself at a Loggers/Lumberjack Festival. This got me very curious. I wanted to find out more so I enquired from ‘Uncle’ Google. Interestingly, these are very popular festivals in a lot of countries. It’s all about log cutting competitions, the history of lumberjacks and other entertaining games.imageWhat caught my eye was the shirts these men wore. Until now, I didn’t know that the scotched shirts were the lumberjack shirts. The shirts were mostly of wine and black shade but have since expanded to include various different colours. A lot of men have a lumberjack shirts in some shade or other.

In recent years and certainly this summer women have raided the lumberjack shirts. I’m one of them and I didn’t even know I bought a logger’s shirt until a close friend complimented my lumberjack look.imageWhat I like about these shirts is the casual and comfort factor. You can dress them in many ways and in whatever way you like. There are lumberjack shirt dresses which you can accessorise with sandals in summer or in winter with tights and boots. Who knew even shirts woren by axeman could be a wardrobe essential for ladies.image
